"Come on, bro. Let's take this shortcut. It'll be easier."
"Are you sure, Sans? It looks rather dark."
"So what? It's a short walk to the other side. It'll keep us from going around the entire block."
The alley looked long. But they were almost late. They were meeting up with Undyne and Alphys at a relatively fancy restaurant that Frisk had recommended they try. And not knowing much about the surface, they gladly accepted the suggestion. The only problem was that it was downtown. Parking was impossible to find.
Sans went off down the alley. Papyrus followed. He didn't like the dark all that much. Dark was scary. And the tall buildings on either side enclosed the space, reminding him of some of the more claustrophobic parts of Waterfall.
Papyrus caught up and quickened his walk. They passed by a corner with a couple dumpsters strewn about.
Sans began to protest. "Hey bro, what's with the pace? You trying to poop me out-"
There was a loud thump. They stopped.
"Brother, I don't like this. Can you teleport us out of here?" Papyrus looked around, back at the corner, in alarm.
"Yeah, just give me a. . ." Sans stopped, and his face became taut.
Papyrus felt something press against his head.
"Don't. Move." Someone whispered in his ear.
"What the hell do you want?" Sans glared.
"Give me all your money." The someone said. "And I might just spare your miserable lives, monster."
Papyrus felt his hands shake. "Sans, maybe we should just do what he says. Surely, he must. . . need the money. Right?"
There was no response from his brother other than a fixed smile.
He laughed. "I'm only gonna give this warning once, buddy. Put that gun down or you're gonna have a bad time."
The figure laughed. "A bad time? And what might you be able to do to me? I've checked your stats. You can only do one damage. You're pathetic."
Papyrus had never seen his brother look so angry before.
"Karma'a a b*tch, wouldn't you say?"
Sans's eye flashed a bright blue as his hand shot to the left. Papyrus felt the gun leave his head, and he turned to find a human, all in black, smashed against the brick wall. Blood was trickling out of his mouth and nose, and several of the man's fingers were bent in ways that they weren't supposed to be bent.
The man jerked unnaturally upright and was lifted off the ground, his soul faintly glowing blue under his black clothes. Papyrus flinched and stepped back, and the man flew past him, right up to Sans.
Sans closed his fist, and the man jerked in pain.
"Any last words?" He said, smile still plastered on his face.
He summoned a bone, and aimed it at the man's chest.
"Sans, stop!"
Sans looked beyond his target, at his brother.
"Stop! You don't need to kill the human!" Papyrus ran forward, and used his own blue magic to lower the man to the ground.
    Sans was motionless.
"Put that bone away, Sans."
    No response.
"I mean it."
Sans slowly relaxed, and the bone disappeared. He took a deep breath, and unclenched his fist. The man collapsed. Papyrus caught him and gently lowered him to the ground, getting some blood on his white shirt.
The man was still conscious though, just barely. He blinked and groaned softly. Papyrus saw the pain in his eyes, and looked away. He gently channeled his blue magic and the man went unconscious.
Sans eye was still glowing when Papyrus got up, but he blinked and it stopped.
"Brother. . ."
Sans turned away and put a hand on the alley wall.
". . . let's go home."
His brother teleported away before he could say anymore.
Papyrus bent down and started healing the man with his magic, straightening the man's fingers and stopping the bleeding. He fished in his pocket, and pulled out some human money, and placed it in the man's hand. The man did need money, after all, right? That's how this whole incident started.
He stood up and walked out of the alley.

Maybe I should just start a series called Undertale Angst and all of my angsty little one shot things go there.

Obviously, this Sans has been through a genocide before, and that's why he flipped out so badly.
